Volvo Introduces Volvo Concierge Services App

Ever wished someone else would deal with taking the car to the gas station, car wash and getting it serviced? Well, Volvo’s new connected-car technology app may soon put an end to the need for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend to these chores.

Volvo Concierge Services connects car owners with convenience services via a smartphone app, expanding on Volvo’s current On Call car app. It works by providing a one-time digital key, which is time- and location-specific, to an authorized convenience service provider. When the services are completed, the car is locked and the digital key expires. The vehicle’s owner can choose to then have it returned to the original location where they left it, or have it delivered to an entirely new location.

Continuing Volvo’s mission to make life less complicated, this pilot program is scheduled to roll out this fall in the San Francisco Bay area.
