Volvo to Deliver Packages to Your Trunk--Not Your Doorstep

Picture this: you worked a long, tiresome day at the office, only to return home to find that the package you were expecting on your doorstep is actually a "sorry we missed you" sticker on your front door. We at Friendship Volvo of Bristol know that scenario all too well. However, could the days of delivery disappoint be coming to rapid end? If Volvo has anything to do with it --yes. In fact, the Swedish automaker recently announced its partnership with a startup known as Urb-it in hopes of removing the middleman and delivering packages to the trunk of your Volvo.

“We understand the value of the In-car Delivery service we have developed. We’ve all had phone calls at work from delivery people trying to deliver packages to our homes that need to be signed for when there is no one home. With our In-car Delivery service we effectively turn your car into a delivery location and assign a one-time digital key to the delivery person, effectively eliminating delivery failure,” said Björn Annwall, Senior Vice President Marketing Sales and Service at Volvo Car Group in a press release.

Unfortunately, US customers will have to wait a few years for this to become a reality. But, if you're off to Sweden anytime soon, you could experience this service as soon as tomorrow. Want to be sure that you're ready for the service? Shop our new Volvo inventory today.
